Putthida Kijdumnern received her B.A. in Political Science (Politics and Government) from Thammasat University; M.A. in Public Administration at Zhejiang University, China; and Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology at Tohoku University, Japan.
She conducts research on food, memory, and ethnicity of Kelantan Peranakan Chinese and Siamese in northeastern Malaysia. Her research interests include food, ethnicity, ethnic politics, cross-border studies, and Peranakan Chinese in Southeast Asia.
