The Department of Social Science and Development offers several academic programs at the bachelor and graduate levels. At the B.A. level, we offer a B.A. in ASEAN Studies (in Thai) and B.A. in Social Sciences (International program). At the graduate level, we offer both Thai and international programs in various sub-fields related to social sciences, such as Ethnicity and Development, Health Social Science, Women Studies and Gender’s, Development Studies, and Political Economy.
The Department has research expertise in a variety of fields related to the social sciences and development. Our topics of focus include environment and natural resource problems, land issues, migration and transnationalism, ethnic minorities, health, and gender issues. The department focuses on these issues as they manifest themselves throughout mainland Southeast Asia.
